In 1969, Hector P. Castilla founded Castilla Tile Co. in San Antonio after learning the trade as a union apprentice in San Antonio. Much of Castilla Tile Co.'s work is alive and well at many well-known locations including the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), North Star and Ingram Malls, and the River Center, as well as many homes throughout South Texas.​ Since Castilla Tile's inception, our family-owned and operated small business has been synonymous with excellence in custom tile installations and renovations. No matter the project size, Hector approached each job with the same high level of integrity and value for craftsmanship.

 

Pablo Castilla, Hector's son, took over Castilla Tile in March 2003. To this day, Pablo honors his father's tradition by approaching every job with integrity and the highest standards for quality craftsmanship.Undoubtedly, Pablo had a hard task of filling his father's shoes, but he has also left his mark throughout San Antonio in many homes and commercial locations. As a minority-owned small business, Castilla Tile remains committed to not only creating tile designs that elevate spaces with beauty and sophistication but also valuing craftsmanship, utilizing quality materials, and applying time-tested techniques to deliver quality work.
